Types of MembershipActive Membership: The active members are those who represent their respective classification within the Club. Additional Active Membership: Any active member may propose and the Club may elect to membership one additional man from the concern which the active member (proposer) represents. The qualifications, privileges, and obligations of a Rotarian holding an additional active membership are identical with those of an active member except he may not propose an additional active member. An additional active member so elected, automatically becomes an active member and holder of the classification with the termination of the active membership of the proposer, or in the event the proposer becomes a senior active member. Senior Active Membership: A member who has been active in his classification for 15 years or more, or has reached the age of 60 or more after having been an active Rotarian for 10 years or more, may elect to relinquish his classification (leaving it open for the election of a new member) and adopt the classification “Senior Active.” Any active member who is of the age of 65 or more after having been an active member for a total of five or more years shall automatically become a senior active member. A senior active member shall have all the rights, privileges and responsibilities of an active member, except he shall not be considered as representing any business or professional classification, and he shall not have the right to propose an additional member. Past Service Membership: The Board may recommend the election to past service membership of any former active member who has become ineligible to active business or professional life after having been an active Rotarian for at least five years. |
